Edward A. Caballero, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Caballero was named Chief Executive Officer on July 1, 2022 by the CVLC Charter Board. He began his career as an educator in 1998 as a classroom teacher here at CVLCC and has worked as a site and central office administrator in the San Diego Unified and Lemon Grove School Districts. Mr. Caballero earned his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Education, bilingual teaching and administrative credentials from the University of San Diego.
Daniza Montero, Elementary School Director
Ms. Montero began her educational career in San Diego as a Spanish Immersion Teacher at Longfellow K-8, worked as a Parent Academic Liaison at Roosevelt International Baccalaureate Middle School and Administrator at San Diego High School of International Studies. Prior to joining CVLCC, she served as an Elementary Principal in San Marcos and National School Districts. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Business from San Diego State University, Master’s Degree in Education and Administrative Services Credential from National University.
Marco Ibañez, Elementary Associate Principal
Mr. Ibañez began his educational career at CVLCC in 2011 and has served as a primary and upper grade Spanish and English Teacher. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, Master's Degree in Education and Administrative Services Credential from San Diego State University.
Tanya Liz Trujillo, Middle School Director
Ms. Trujillo began her educational career at CVLCC over 25 years ago as a primary teacher. She worked as an Instructional Coach at CVESD and returned to CVLCC where she worked for 8 years as a Resource Specialist at the Middle and High School level. She holds a Master’s Degree in Multicultural Children’s Literature from the University of San Francisco and an Administrative Services Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University.
Mita Tessier, High School Director
Ms. Tessier began her educational career in Calexico, California upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California Santa Barbara. She began her tenure with the Chula Vista Elementary School District in 1997 and joined the CVLCC family in 2011. She has served an an Instructional Coach and Curriculum & Program Coordinator prior to her role as Director. Ms. Tessier is also a proud CVLCC parent. She holds a bilingual teaching credential, reading specialist credential and Masters in Education from San Diego State University, and a Certificate in Advanced Educational Leadership from Harvard University.
Special Recognition to our Founder Dr. Jorge Ramirez Delgado
Dr. Ramirez was the founding administrator of the CVLCC “Dream School”. He began his educational career as a bilingual Spanish classroom teacher in 1992 and has taught in both public and private schools. His visionary work in establishing San Diego County’s first 50/50 dual language immersion program and unwavering commitment to severing the Chula Vista Community have led CVLCC to being recognized as one of the top performing K-12 schools in California and the nation. Dr. Ramirez earned his Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of San Francisco.
